Ginataang Kalabasa

This is a classic Pinoy dish my mom used to cook long ago and is quite easy to cook. Ingredients are readily available anywhere.

Ingredients:
  • minced garlic
  • chopped onions
  • prawns
  • sitao (string beans)
  • kalabasa (pumpkin)
  • coconut milk
Procedure:
  1. Heat oil in a wok or saucepan.
  2. Fry garlic until medium brown, add onions and continue stirring until color is translucent.
  3. Add prawns.
  4. Stir fry for a bit.
  5. Add your kalabasa and about 150 ml of water. Cover the wok/pan.
  6. Let it boil until the kalabasa is half-cooked, then add the coconut milk and sitao.
  7. Stir until it boils then leave uncovered under low heat until the kalabasa is fully cooked.
  8. Serve hot with rice.
Enjoy!
